Report Cards Were Distributed Nov. 22; Learn What’s New About Them

Student report cards were distributed on November 22. If you are the parent of an elementary school student, you may have noticed some major changes to your child’s report card. MCPS has revised its report card and grading scale this year. The revisions are designed to more clearly convey student learning and provide additional information about learning skills or work habits. The change reflects input from parents, school staff and community.
What’s New?
- A, B, C, D in Grades 2–5.
- Kindergarten students will get a report card four times (instead of twice) per year.
- Includes overall subject grade (in addition to the end-of-year average and measurement topics per marking period).
- Includes reporting of key learning skills.
