The MCPS Curriculum Advisory Assembly and the Maryland Student Page program are currently accepting applications. Students are encouraged to visit the Student Affairs website for a complete list of current opportunities.
MCPS Curriculum Advisory Assembly
Each year, the Department of Student Affairs gathers the names of highly qualified students interested in filling the student positions on the Associate Superintendent’s Curriculum Advisory Assembly. This year, there is an opening for a student in the 7th and 10th grades.
The goals of the Curriculum Advisory Assembly are to:
- Obtain input and feedback from constituents regarding curriculum, instruction, assessments, and programs
- Update constituents on issues related to state and federal regulations, and systemwide priorities as related to curriculum, instruction and assessment
Students must keep in mind that, if selected, their acceptance of the position includes their commitment to attend all meetings. St
Students will earn Student Service Learning hours for their time served on the Advisory Assembly. For more information and to apply, click here.Students must provide their own transportation to and from all of the meetings.
Maryland Student Page Program Accepting Applications
The Maryland Student Page program is seeking high school seniors for the 2014 session of the Maryland General Assembly. Maryland seniors who are at least 16 years old are eligible to apply. Pages will be assigned to either the Senate or the House of Delegates for 13 weeks and receive a $55 stipend for each day worked. The deadline to submit an application is 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25. Applications can be found on the MCPS Office of Student Affairs website.
