A Message of Appreciation
As 2015 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to thank you for the outstanding work you have done this year and for your unwavering commitment to the success of our students. My leadership team and I have had the privilege and opportunity to visit many schools over the past four months and we have been so impressed with how our teachers, support professionals, and school leaders are working tirelessly to meet the needs of our students.
I am also proud of the great strides we have made in implementing our strategic priorities. From our increased focus on instruction in literacy and mathematics to our multipronged efforts to enhance our culture of collaboration and respect in our schools, we are steadfast in our commitment to educate each and every student so that academic success is not predictable by race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.
While we have much to be proud of, we know there is more we can and must do in 2016 to meet our goal of ensuring our students have the skills and knowledge they need to build the foundation for their success. I have no doubts that, together, we will achieve this goal.
Please enjoy this holiday season with your family, friends and loved ones and I look forward to working together in the New Year.
Thank you and happy holidays,
Interim Superintendent of Schools
