Deadline for United We Learn Contest Nears
For the second year, MCPS is holding the United We Learn systemwide student contest. There is still time to enter!
Students are being asked to use visual art and the written word to celebrate diversity while exploring the matter of equity for all. The contest challenges students to think critically about what equity means and how attitudes, traditions, systemic practices and/or legal matters impede or support the concept that “All Means All.” The goal is to provide students with a creative, structured approach to explore what equity means and the barriers that limit some from having access to the same opportunities and resources as others.
The contest is open to students from all grade levels. Submissions will be judged by level (elementary, middle and high) and by category. Entries must be created by groups of two to eight students. Submissions will be accepted in the following categories: written word and visual art. More details and full contest rules are available on the contest website.
The contest closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16.
