An educated health-care consumer is better able to make decisions that are in his or her best interest. Open enrollment is your chance to research health plan options and make any necessary changes.
If you are a benefits-eligible employee, you will receive Open Enrollment information in your MCPS Outlook email. It will not be printed or mailed.
Employee benefit enrollment forms will be available online only. They will not be printed or mailed.
Details regarding Open Enrollment and 2014 MCPS employee benefits will be available on the Open Enrollment web page beginning Friday, Oct. 11.
If you choose to make changes during Open Enrollment, you will receive a confirmation of your changes in your MCPS Outlook email account.
If you choose to enroll in a 2014 flexible spending account(s), you must do so online, and you will receive confirmation of your 2014 elections in your MCPS Outlook email account.
Important Reminder for UnitedHealthcare Members
Effective Jan. 1, 2014, MCPS no longer will offer UnitedHealthcare (UHC) as a medical plan provider, but has instead contracted with Cigna, a healthcare insurance provider that will offer both point-of-service and health maintenance organization coverage to eligible MCPS employees. If you are currently enrolled in UHC, you will automatically be enrolled in the same plan option with Cigna, unless you select another plan during the fall Open Enrollment. Be sure to review Open Enrollment information for plan details and options.
Be Prepared for Open Enrollment
Take these simple steps to make sure you are ready for this year’s Employee Benefits Open Enrollment.
Check your MCPS employee Outlook email for the Open Enrollment announcement from the Employee and Retiree Service Center (ERSC) on Oct. 11. This important email contains a link to the Open Enrollment memorandum with details regarding MCPS employee benefits and information about how to enroll in benefits during Open Enrollment.
Plan to Attend an Open Enrollment Benefits Fair
During open enrollment, representatives from the MCPS health plans and the Employee and Retiree Service Center (ERSC) will be available to present benefit information and answer questions.
Those fairs will be held from 3–5:30 p.m. at Julius West Middle School, 651 Great Falls Road in Rockville. They will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15; Tuesday, Oct. 22, and Tuesday, Oct. 29.
