August 14, 2013
You won’t want to miss the MCPS Back-to-School Fair on Saturday, August 24, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Help get the school year off to a great start! The fair will be held on the grounds of the Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive in Rockville.
The fair is free and will have something for everyone. There will be school system and community resources for parents, along with health screenings, music entertainment and fun children’s activities.
Last year, 8,213 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed to families at the annual Back-to-School Fair. Given the growing need in the community and the space limitations of the Carver Educational Services Center, this year backpacks filled with school supplies will be delivered directly to schools for distribution to students.
The Back-to-School Fair is made possible through generous donations from many sponsors, including Kaiser Permanente, Party Plus, Washington Talent Agency, Montgomery College, Maryland Physicians Care and Carnival Day.
Limited parking will be available at the Montgomery College Rockville campus across the street from Carver Educational Services Center. Free round-trip shuttle buses will run from 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., between the fair and the following sites:
- Shady Grove Middle School
- Watkins Mill High School
- Wheaton High School
- Springbrook High School
- Richard Montgomery High School
- Rockville High School
- Seneca Valley High School
- Northwest High School
- Albert Einstein High School
- John F. Kennedy High School
- Montgomery Blair High School
