Johns Hopkins University Offering Master’s Degree in Special Education
Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is seeking candidates for the SET-IT (Special Education Teacher Immersion Training) two-year program that leads to a Master of Science in Education Degree and Generic Certification in Special Education, grades 1 through 12. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and have a 3.0 GPA. Participants will work for MCPS as special education paraeducators during the day and take JHU courses in the evening (at the Columbia campus). Current MCPS paraeducators are encouraged to apply. MCPS tuition reimbursement will be available to qualified MCPS employees.
Dr. Laurie deBettencourt will hold face-to-face information sessions on the third Tuesday of every month from September—January (except for December). The sessions will be held from 4-5 p.m. in Room 202 at the JHU Columbia Campus 6740 Alexander Bell Dr., in Columbia.
JHU will begin accepting applications for the next cohort (2018 summer start) now. The final deadline is February 1, 2018.
