Join Us in March to Quit for Good
Since Kaiser Permanente and MCPS first teamed up to offer the Quit for Good tobacco cessation program in 2011, 58 MCPS employees have completed it. Of those, 43 were still tobacco-free six months after the program ended!
Isn’t it time you quit for good?
Quit for Good is a free, course-based tobacco cessation program open to MCPS employees and their spouses, regardless of whether or not you carry Kaiser Permanente health insurance. The program is eight weeks long and consists of once-a-week classes led by a nurse practitioner, with assistance from Kaiser Permanente clinicians and health experts. Class size is limited to ensure the personal attention necessary to support you in your goal of quitting.
The next session of Quit for Good begins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at in the Maple Room at 45 W. Gude Dr. in Rockville. To register, email Well Aware. To learn more about the program, including the week-by-week course content, visit the Well Aware website.
Looking for Big Results? A Few Small Changes May Be All You Need!
Last fall, Well Aware challenged MCPS employees to incorporate small healthy changes into their lives. Many took part in the Small Changes, Big Results challenge and, thanks to some small changes, saw huge results! Participants in the fall challenge together lost more than 1,600 pounds and lowered their body mass index more than 240 points.
With the Small Changes, Big Results spring challenge starting in just a few days, think of the progress you can make before the end of the school year. Gather your team or get yourself ready for the individual competition. Team registration begins on Monday, Feb. 23. Learn more.
