Robert Frost MS Named National Blue Ribbon School
Robert Frost Middle School has been named a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Rockville school was honored as an Exemplary High Performing School for its outstanding academic achievement, as well as its leadership, professional development and instructional programs. Robert Frost is the 36th school in MCPS to be named a National Blue Ribbon School.
“Robert Frost is a great example of the tremendous work that is being done by our staff and students every day,” said Superintendent of Schools Joshua P. Starr. “Congratulations to the entire Robert Frost community on being named a National Blue Ribbon School.”
Robert Frost was named one of six Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools in December, qualifying the school for consideration as a National Blue Ribbon School. On Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced the 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools through a video message. Robert Frost is one of six public schools in Maryland and 286 schools nationwide that were honored as Blue Ribbon Schools this year.
Robert Frost principal Joey N. Jones shared the news with his school after the official announcement was made.
“This National Blue Ribbon Award confirms that you can achieve great things with a dedicated staff, strong parent and community support, and outstanding students,” Dr. Jones said. “I am proud to be the principal of this exceptional school and thank the U.S. Department of Education for the recognition.”
Robert Frost and the other 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools will be honored at a recognition ceremony on Nov. 18 and 19 in Washington, D.C.
