Retiring This Year? Take the Wellness Initiative After You Retire to Receive Participation Credit in 2020

The Wellness Initiatives program is available to retirees who are not yet eligible for Medicare. If you wish to participate in Wellness Initiatives for 2020 as a retiree, you will need to complete your biometric health screening and health risk assessment after you have retired and by this year’s October 4, 2019, deadline.
Employee insurance benefits and retiree insurance benefits are administered separately. For this reason, any biometric health screening and/or health risk assessment that you completed while still employed by Montgomery County Public Schools will NOT count toward the Wellness Initiatives incentives for retirees. For this reason, if you have already completed your screening and assessment for 2020 as an employee, you will need to complete them again as a retiree by October 4, 2019.
