Keeping it Safe Sponsoring Video Contest Addressing Teen Alcohol Use

The Keeping it SAFE Coalition: Under Twenty-One Alcohol Prevention Coalition is sponsoring its annual video contest to create a 30-second public service message addressing the risks and dangers of under 21 alcohol use. This year’s topics are:
- How social media influences teens about underage drinking
- To drink vs. not to drink. What are the effects of alcohol and who influences you?
- How the COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to under 21 alcohol use
The contest is open to teams of two or more students enrolled in Montgomery County middle and high schools. Cash prizes of $200 to $1,000 are up for grabs to the winning schools or organizations. Entries are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 26.
The Keeping it Safe Coalition is a multi-agency, public-private coalition whose main objective is to deter underage alcohol use, reduce youth access to alcohol and to reduce the effects of alcohol use in youth under the age of 21.
