Learn About Countywide and Regional High School Programs at Upcoming Virtual Sessions

Parents and students are invited to learn about the various high school options available to Grade 8 students for the 2021-2022 school year during a virtual session on Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. The virtual presentation, which will be broadcast on the MCPS website, MCPS TV and on the MCPS YouTube channel, will include information about the countywide and regional programming options and the admission process. Admission to a countywide or regional program is through an application process, lottery or selective criteria.

Downcounty Consortium (DCC) High School Choice Process Virtual Session–September 24
Parents of Grade 8 students in the Downcounty Consortium are invited to participate in a virtual session at 6 p.m. to learn about the Downcounty Consortium Academy Programs and Choice Process for the 2021-2022 school year. The virtual presentation will include information about the five high schools and the Downcounty Consortium Choice process. The five Downcounty Consortium Choice high schools are Montgomery Blair, Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy, Northwood and Wheaton, each offering unique learning and rigorous academic opportunities within various program offerings. Admission to one of the DCC high schools is based upon a Choice assignment lottery process open to residents within the five high school clusters who are currently in Grade 8. The program will be broadcast on MCPS TV, the MCPS website and the MCPS YouTube channel.
