MCPS Releases Emergency Preparedness Videos for Students and Staff
This year, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is allowing school systems to have school-led discussions of the six emergency preparedness drills instead of practicing the actual drills. To be in compliance with the MSDE requirements for emergency preparedness drills/training, MCPS has developed two emergency preparedness videos that will be shown to all students and staff before the end of the school year.
The secondary school video is 12 minutes long and addresses the required six emergency preparedness drills, fire evacuations, lockdown with options, and other MCPS protocols.

The elementary school video, which is 18 minutes long is divided into four chapters so that teachers can show segments to their class in increments.
