Mount Vernon is launching its first Student Advisory Board for the 2022–2023 school year.

This opportunity is open to high school juniors and seniors through the Washington area, who will meet monthly on the grounds of Mount Vernon. The board will empower student voices and create meaningful impact within Mount Vernon programming. Students will sharpen leadership and professional skills by working with Mount Vernon staff to assess gaps in the current curriculum and create more interactive, accessible and fun opportunities for today’s students to connect with George Washington and his world.

Board members will serve one-year terms, and be paid $20 an hour to attend the monthly meetings. They will also receive travel stipends to help with the commute to Mount Vernon.

Applications are due Tuesday, May 31. Apply here. More information is available here.
