PeaceJam Applications Now Open for High School Students
For the second year, MCPS is partnering with PeaceJam Mid-Atlantic, a regional affiliate of the international education program that connects youth with Nobel Peace Prize winners. PeaceJam Mid-Atlantic and MCPS will deliver a weekly virtual leadership development program to high school students beginning the week of Feb. 1. The program is focused on community engagement and connection. Participating students will earn Student Service Learning hours. This is an application-only program that will accept 80 students total for the spring semester. Applications to participate are due by Wednesday, Jan. 12.
Selected students will be invited to attend the 2022 PeaceJam Mid-Atlantic Youth Conference with Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi on April 23-24, 2022.
Meetings will be held weekly virtually via Zoom from 4-5:30 p.m. beginning the week of Feb. 1. The application is available here.
