SMOB Nominations Open Until Jan. 26

Know someone interested in becoming the next Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB)? Eligible students are current 10th and 11th grade MCPS students and must be residents of Montgomery County. The 46th SMOB will serve a one-year term from July 2023 through June 2024.

Interested students can review the SMOB Election Protocols and submit the application. A timeline and directions are available on the MCPS SMOB Election webpage. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26.

Seeking Secondary Students for Elementary Leadership Conference

The MCPS Office of Student Leadership and Extracurricular Activities is hosting an Elementary Leadership Conference for current 5th grade students on Saturday, April 15. They are looking for high school and middle school leaders to be workshop creators or workshop presenters. Applications are due Friday, Jan. 27.
