The Montgomery County Board of Education and MCPS are seeking nominations for the 44th Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB). Eligible students are current 10th and 11th grade MCPS students and must be residents of Montgomery County. The 44th SMOB will serve a one-year term from July 2021 through June 2022.

The SMOB candidate filing period is open until Jan. 28, 2021. Nomination forms are on page 29 of the SMOB Election Protocols and can be submitted electronically to Shella Cherry, director, MCPS Student Leadership and Extracurricular Activities, by email at no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021.
