Where Will You Serve on the MLK Day of Service?
On Monday, Jan. 20, Montgomery County will celebrate the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Join thousands of Americans across the country who will celebrate the national holiday honoring the life and work of Dr. King by doing service in their communities.
This is a great opportunity for students to earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours while participating in worthwhile activities with family and friends.
Service projects will take place at three locations around the county:
- Bethesda North Marriott Conference: 1– 3 p.m.
- Silver Spring Civic Center: 10 a.m. – Noon
- International Cultural Center: 3 – 5 p.m.
Volunteers can work on individual projects and/or on group projects, such as making sandwiches for local shelters, decorating cards for senior citizens and veterans, and assembling personal care packages.
