MCPS permanent employees can begin accessing their annual tax forms via Employee Self-Service (ESS) within the next two weeks.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) mandates that employers provide 2019 tax forms to employees as follows:

  • W-2s are to be provided by January 31, 2020.
  • 1095-Cs are to be provided by March 2, 2020.

MCPS employees will receive their W-2s and 1095-Cs by these deadlines. Those who authorize web delivery of their tax forms by the January 13, 2020, deadline will receive them earlier than those who wait for delivery of hard copies. If you authorized web delivery for a previous year, you do not need to do so again. Your authorization remains in place unless you revoke it via ESS.

For those employees who do not authorize web delivery by January 13, 2020, hard copies of their tax forms will be prepared and delivered to schools and offices.*

For more information about W-2 and 1095-C distribution and for details that will assist you with filing your 2019 taxes, visit the Tax Information web page beginning the week of January 21–24, 2020.

* Tax forms for Department of Transportation employees, temporary part-time employees, substitute teachers and employees who are on long-term leave, retired or terminated will be mailed to their home addresses.
