Comment Sought on Workplace Bullying Policy
The Montgomery County Board of Education has tentatively approved a new policy that will establish a framework for preventing, intervening and correcting workplace bullying. The draft policy calls for processes to prevent, identify, report, investigate and resolve instances of bullying, with corrective actions, as needed. The Board identified the need to develop Policy ACH, Workplace Bullying, to affirm the Board’s commitment to an organizational culture of respect in Montgomery County Public Schools consistent with Board Policies ACA, Human Relations and ACB, Nondiscrimination. The Board considers workplace bullying to be unacceptable and will not tolerate it under any circumstances.
The public may comment on Policy ACH, Workplace Bullying, until Monday, Dec. 21, 2015. Interested individuals may provide comments using an online comment form on the MCPS website. Comments on the policy also can be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 850 Hungerford Drive, Room 122, Rockville, Maryland 20850. All comments on the policy will be shared with the Board of Education and the interim superintendent of schools.
