A Message Regarding COVID-19 Vaccinations for Staff

In case you missed it, the following email was sent to staff on Tuesday, Jan. 19, regarding staff members receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
Dear MCPS Colleagues,
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is coordinating with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to provide ALL MCPS employees with access to the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine offers a significant level of prevention against acquiring COVID-19 and increases the level of safety for staff and students.
Over the next few weeks, we will continue to update you with details on registration for the vaccine and vaccination clinic sites. While the state and local government have assigned education staff to phase 1B, the rollout and timeline will be impacted by vaccine availability in our county. MCPS strongly encourages all employees to get the vaccine; however, it is not required at this time.
I encourage staff to familiarize themselves with information about the vaccine by reviewing information from the Montgomery County Health Department or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention here. These sites contain the most current health information and can answer many questions and concerns.
Providing access to the vaccine to our employees is a crucial step toward a return to a level of normalcy for all of us and a return to in-person instruction. We appreciate all the effort you have put into your work to ensure continuous, positive and successful educational experiences for more than 160,000 students.
