Again this year, employees may complete online training in lieu of a biometric health screening to pay less of the total cost of their 2023 health insurance. Register for and complete “Wellness Initiatives: Biometrics Incentive Alternative 2023 Benefit Year training” (course #90899) on Professional Development Online (PDO).

To receive the biometrics health screening credit, employees have until Oct. 7, 2022, to either complete the training or have a yearly physical. Employees still needing to complete their online health risk assessment also have until Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, to do so. This is the Real Age Test for CareFirst, and the Total Health Assessment for Kaiser Permanente. Be sure to log in to your medical plan’s web page to consent to your participation in the Wellness Initiatives program. Without your consent, your information will not be reported.

The Wellness Initiatives program was established to help MCPS employees learn about their health and reduce their contributions to health insurance costs. By completing a biometric health screening and their medical plan’s online health risk assessment by the announced deadline each year, employees pay up to 2 percent less of the total cost of their health insurance.
