Beginning Monday, March 27, summer employment opportunities will be available for teachers or paraeducators in prekindergarten or Head Start programs.
This summer, Prek and Head Start will offer summer school programs from June 26–Aug. 4. These programs will be open to students currently enrolled in Prek and Head Start and will attend a non-Title I school for kindergarten in the fall of 2023. The student day will be 6.5 hours of literacy and mathematics instruction in the morning and a well-rounded curriculum including music, arts, P.E. and coding in the afternoon.
The Prek and Head Start summer school classes will be held at two locations:
- MacDonald Knolls Early Childhood Center (one Prek class and five Head Start classes).
- Up County Early Childhood Center at Washington Grove Elementary (one Prek class and three Head Start classes).
Interested individuals can apply via MCPS Careers beginning March 27.
