Conference to Focus on Diversity and Inclusiveness
Are you a staff member, parent, student or community member looking for ways to fight the increase in hate and bias incidents in our area? Do you want to protect inclusiveness and diversity in our county? Join Communities United Against Hate (CUAH)—Montgomery County for its first Schools Conference on Sunday, Oct. 22, from 12:30–5 p.m. at Shady Grove Middle School, 8100 Midcounty Highway in Gaithersburg.
The free conference will include panel discussions and workshops led by decision-makers from MCPS, the Montgomery County Board of Education and the Montgomery County Council. Workshop topics will include: school climate regarding hate/bias incidents and discrimination; initiatives to fight hate, bias and bullying; student and parental capacity building; community engagement; and the student achievement gap and universal Pre-K.
CUAH is a non-profit organization that unites the community to combat bigotry, support victims of hate and promote inclusiveness in Montgomery County.
