Credit Union Offering Professional Development to Staff, Scholarships to Students

The Educational Systems Federal Credit Union’s foundation is offering a professional development award to educators and has three scholarships open to MCPS students.

The Maurice Erly Professional Development Award is a $1,000 award available to administrators, teachers or support staff who have made a difference by positively impacting student success and who want to further their own development. The award money can be used toward continuing education fees, such as workshop registrations, certification fees and tuition. Applications are due Saturday, April 1.

The following scholarships are also open to Montgomery County students:

The Dorothy Marvil Scholarship, a one-time $3,000 scholarship, and can be used for tuition at a four-year university, community college, technical college or trade school. Applications are due Saturday, April 1.

The Rosemary Brinkley Business and Finance Scholarship, also a one-time $3,000 scholarship, which can be used toward a degree in business, finance or a related field at a four-year university or community college. Applications are also due Saturday, April 1.

A Community College Scholarship is a one-time $3,000 scholarship toward tuition to continue attending Montgomery College, Frederick Community College, Howard Community College, Prince George’s Community College or the College of Southern Maryland during the following academic school year. Applications are due April 1.
