EAP Hosting Sessions to Learn More about Social Security

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is hosting a two-part series with the Social Security Administration (SSA). The sessions, which will be held in English and in Spanish, will cover a variety of topics related to Social Security. These virtual presentations will be led by Diana Varela, public affairs specialist with SSA.

The sessions will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. on:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 25: Social Security Through Life’s Journey, Part 1, in English. Register.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 22: Social Security Through Life’s Journey, Part 1, in Spanish. Registration link to come.
  • Wednesday, March 22: Social Security Through Life’s Journey, Part 2, in English. Register.
  • Wednesday, April 12: Social Security Through Life’s Journey, Part 2, in Spanish. Registration link to come.

Discussion topics for the first session will include:

  • When are you eligible to receive retirement benefits?
  • How does early retirement affect your benefits?
  • When should you file for Medicare?
  • How do you get the most from your benefits?

Discussion topics for the second session will include:

  • Do you qualify for disability, survivors and spouse benefits?
  • How do you get the most from your benefits?
  • What is the future of Social Security?
