Dr. Alana Murray, principal at Shady Grove Middle School, will be the keynote speaker at the 2022 Joint Assistant Principals’ conference being held on Nov. 9 by the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) and the Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals (MAESP). Dr. Murray taught world history at the middle high school level and recently won the Outstanding Alumni Award by the University of Maryland’s College of Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in government and politics and a doctoral degree in minority and urban education. Register for the conference.
Watkins Mill Holds Community Cares Day
Watkins Mill Elementary School held the second annual Community Cares Day on Oct. 23. This schoolwide event joined community resources and health screenings with food, fun and children’s activities.
