The MCPS Office of Special Education Services is offering mini-grants to staff for innovative projects that help prepare special education students to transition to college, career or an adult-day program.
The grant money will be used to fund innovative projects in high schools that increase school-work experiences for students with disabilities. Grants are available for projects including:
- School business start-up money for new school-work experiences
- Business-related supplies and/or equipment to improve existing school businesses
- Direct support for economically disadvantaged students who are in off-site work experiences, such as transportation or uniforms for employment
Grant amounts available are from $250 to $1,400.
The deadline to submit a proposal is 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. Proposals must be hand delivered, scanned and emailed or sent by Pony to Simone Geness, supervisor in the Transition Services Unit. Faxed documents will not be accepted.
