Have You Joined the Superhero Challenge?
Well Aware, the MCPS wellness program, is challenging you to log your daily exercise time as you break out of your mild-mannered shell and become a fit and fierce warrior during this spring’s physical activity challenge, Superhero. The challenge began on March 2, but there is plenty of time to join us!
Perhaps you have forgotten your New Year’s resolutions, or you have lost the motivation to get moving. With Superhero, you have an opportunity to begin working towards your health and wellness goals. Remember, any activity counts!
Along the way, Well Aware will offer incentives to keep you motivated. You could win individual prizes and grants to promote wellness at your school or office, as well as recognition for your efforts.
Learn more about the Superhero challenge by visiting the Well Aware website. Then, log your activity in the online Well Aware Fitness Log. If you already have a fitness log account from an earlier challenge, you do not need to register for a new account. Trouble logging in? Email Well Aware.

Check Out This Month’s Newsletter, Coming Friday, March 6
In the March issue of the Well Aware e-News, meet second grade teacher Rebecca Gumbs and a group of her coworkers from Cashell Elementary School who set a goal to climb 5,000,000 steps by the end of January. Gumbs has some advice for those looking to start a wellness program: “Don’t give up, even if you’re the only interested person. Interest tends to grow when there are passionate people involved!” This month’s issue also has information on a seminar/webinar to help you overcome workout or weight loss plateaus (see above); National Nutrition Month’s Eat Right Bite by Bite campaign; Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and this year’s National Walking Day.
