Congratulations! Another successful school year is winding down. Before your summer plans get underway, please consider these important items from the Employee and Retiree Service Center (ERSC).

2021-2022 School Year Plans

MCPS expects that 10-month employees will return to their permanent position(s) for the 2021-2022 school year unless they have notified the Office of Human Resources and Development (OHRD) that they will not return or OHRD has notified them that their position(s) will not be available.

Work Schedules for the 2021–2022 School Year

If you are a 10-month employee, summer break may end on a different date than your coworkers, based on your position. Your first work day of the 2021–2022 school year—as well as the total number of duty days for the year, in-service days and more—are listed on the annual work schedule.

Educational Systems Federal Credit Union’s Summer Pay Disbursement

If you have an Educational Systems Federal Credit Union (FCU) Premium Summer Pay Account*, the biweekly summer disbursements will be on the following dates:

  • July 2 and 16, 2021
  • August 6 and 20, 2021

If you opt to request a paper check in lieu of electronic transfer: Educational Systems FCU will charge you $5 if you make a request for a paper check by phone. There is no charge if make the request via online banking. For more information, visit the Educational Systems FCU Summer Pay webpage and learn how you can start saving for next summer!

Most 10- and 11-Month Employees to Receive Partial Paycheck on July 2, 2021

Most 10- and 11-month MCPS employees who work during the June 7–18 pay period will receive a partial paycheck on July 2, 2021. This paycheck will include pay for the number of days worked during this pay period.

Plan Ahead for September’s Accelerated Pay Date

MCPS will be accelerating one pay date in September for the convenience of our 10-month employees. The accelerated pay date enables 10-month employees to receive a full paycheck more quickly.

September pay dates will be:

  • September 10, 2021
  • September 17, 2021

Pay dates will resume their biweekly schedule with the following pay date of October 8, 2021. Please plan accordingly and budget in preparation for this change to the normal pay schedule.

The full 2021–2022 pay-date schedule will be available on the ERSC website by July 1, 2021.

Salary Information

Salary increases for MCPS employees went into effect on Monday, May 3, 2021. They included a 2 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for all permanent employees, a step increase for eligible employees, and a longevity increase for eligible supporting services employees. Learn more.

To access your current and previous salary information at any time, visit the Employee Self-Service webpage and click on My salary information for current information or on My salary history for previous information. You will find both links under the green My Pay banner. Log in to either using your Outlook username and password, which will take you to a Salary and Position Information screen. From there, you can click on the text highlighted in blue and your salary information will appear at the bottom of the screen. To request a PDF copy via your Outlook email account, click on the Email button at the top right of the screen, then click OK.
