Interested in Becoming an Elementary School Teacher?

Have you considered becoming an elementary teacher in MCPS? If so, join us for a virtual information session co-hosted by the University of Maryland (UMD) for the Creative Initiatives in Teacher Education (CITE) program from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1. Register on Professional Development Online (PDO) (Course #87596) to receive the Google Meet link.
The UMD CITE program is well matched to individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree and want to earn a master’s degree and certification in elementary education. CITE students begin internship experiences throughout the six-semester program and must be willing to work at least two hours a day in a general education classroom with an MCPS mentor teacher. The next cohort will begin in January 2023. This is a great time to apply and receive free academic advising from UMD.
To be eligible for the UMD CITE program, you must be an MCPS employee who holds a permanent position of 20 hours or more and meet the requirements of the UMD Graduate School.
