Moreland University’s TEACH NOW certification program helps conditionally certified teachers earn their teaching licensure. This is an asynchronous online program that provides a flexible, affordable and accelerated pathway to certification.
During this information session, you will:
- Learn about the TEACH NOW program—schedule, learning goals and requirements.
- Take steps to complete the application.
- Learn about the license process.
- Meet the Moreland team and an MCPS graduate of the program.

Bowie State University Weekend College and Summer Institute

The Bowie State University Weekend College and Summer Institute are programs for teachers who hold conditional certification completing professional course requirements. Both programs are designed to support conditional licensed teachers with moving toward standard licensure by providing courses pertinent to their transcript audit. Interested applicants must have a current transcript analysis to determine eligibility. The Weekend College and Summer Institute are not full-degree programs and are best matched to teachers who have select courses required for certification. Summer Institute flyer

University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Master’s Degree or Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) will offer a four-graduate course Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (PBC) in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. The certificate program is designed for elementary, middle and high school teachers who hold initial certification in a content area other than ESOL and who teach or will teach English Language Learners. Successful completion of the PBC will prepare candidates for the ESOL PRAXIS for the add-on certification endorsement. Information about the PBC may be found here. The master’s program is for those needing initial teaching certification in the area of ESOL. A flyer for the program is available here.
