MCPS is working with several community organizations to host a Say Yes to the Test Day information fair and event at Paint Branch High School from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9.

The school district is partnering with Kingdom Fellowship AME Church and Holy Cross Hospital to offer free COVID-19 vaccinations; to share information about testing in schools and to assist families in signing their children up for testing. The event will also include giveaways, food and fun. Other school system and county departments, including the MCPS Department of Transportation, Montgomery County Libraries, the Montgomery County Police Department, Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy (MCAEL), the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center, the Montgomery County Board of Elections, the Conflict Resolution Center and Montgomery College will be on hand to provide resources to families.

The Say Yes to the Test campaign encourages families to consent for their children to receive free COVID-19 testing at their school. Testing helps keep schools open and students and staff safe. There are two types of COVID-19 tests—screening and rapid tests. Parents/guardians only need to fill out one form to give their permission for both tests. The consent form is available in multiple languages and can be filled out online or schools can provide paper copies for families.

Appointments are not necessary to get a COVID vaccine, but you can register for one here.

The Say Yes to the Test event will be held in the parking lot at Paint Branch, located at 14121 Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville.
