LGBTQIA+ Work Group, Panel Discussion, Conference Open to Educators
MCPS is collaborating with staff, students and community stakeholders to increase awareness, support and programming for its LGBTQIA+ employees, students and families. If you identify as LGBTQIA+ and are interested in joining a newly created alliance work group, contact Greg Edmundson, director, Student Welfare and Compliance Unit.
In addition, two LGBTQIA+ conferences open to educators are currently open for registration.
The Pride and Less Prejudice Queer Educator panel, Being Seen and Understood as a Queer Educator, will be held virtually from 8–9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20. It is free to attend. Registration information can be found here.
The Human Rights Campaign Time to Thrive conference will be held virtually from Feb. 8-10. The cost is $29 (free to National Education Association, American Counseling Association and Human Rights Campaign members). More information is available here.
