The MCPS Department of Digital Innovation is hosting a Device Showcase in January for members of the Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA). The showcase will inform future purchases and align new technologies with classroom needs. Teacher devices will be an important part of the refresh cycle starting in the summer of 2024.

The showcase will provide an opportunity for MCEA staff to test different devices and share input on what technology devices and features are most important to them.

The event will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, from 9–11 a.m., 1–3 p.m. and 3–5 p.m. MCEA staff will pick one window to attend.

Each school will receive one substitute day to be used for teacher coverage so that teachers can attend. The sub day should be shared by two staff members so that one can attend during the morning session and one can attend in the afternoon. Staff who do not require a substitute may attend the showcase during any window.

Principals may submit the names of two MCEA staff members requiring half-day substitute coverage by completing this form no later than Wednesday, Jan. 4. Teachers must arrange their own sub coverage. Subs will be paid by the Department of Digital Innovation.
