MCPS Hosting Three Virtual Conversations on Fall Recovery Guide

MCPS is hosting three virtual conversations for the community on its draft Fall 2020 Recovery Guide—August 12 at 6:30 p.m. for parents, staff and students; August 13 at 7 p.m. for students; and August 18 at 4 p.m. for our Spanish-speaking community.
The conversations will be streamed live on the MCPS website, MCPS TV (Comcast 34, Verizon 36 and RCN 89) and on YouTube. You can submit questions in advance by visiting www.mcpssubmitquestion.org.
More details on the conversations are below:
- August 12: MCPS leaders will address questions and concerns from staff and community members. Scheduled to appear are: Sarah Sirgo, a director of Learning, Achievement and Administration; Brenda Lewis, director of the Department of Elementary Curriculum and Districtwide Programs; and Jeff Sullivan, director of athletics. The program will be streamed via YouTube, on the MCPS homepage and MCPS-TV channels. Spanish and American Sign Language interpretation will be provided.
- August 13: MCPS leaders will discuss questions and concerns from students. Attending will be: Sarah Sirgo, director of Learning, Achievement and Administration; Brenda Lewis, director of the Department of Elementary Curriculum and Districtwide Programs; and Jeff Sullivan, director of athletics. The event will be moderated by Student Member of the Board (SMOB) Nick Asante, Maryland State SMOB Jason Wu, and Montgomery County Regional Student Government Association leaders Layne Teitelbaum and Ashley Morales. It will be available on the MCPS YouTube channel here.
- August 18: This will be a live question-and-answer session in Spanish. Diego Uriburu, executive director of Identity, will join MCPS communications specialist Melissa Rivera and MCPS parents to talk about the updated draft Fall 2020 Recovery Guide. This conversation will be broadcast live on the MCPS en Español website, on the MCPSTV en Español YouTube channel and on Condado TV (Comcast 33, Verizon 35 and RCN 88). Viewers can submit questions via the YouTube chat box.
