MSDE Offering New CPD Course
Do you need credits for renewal or salary advancement? The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved another Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course for educators who successfully implement their school system’s Continuity of Learning plan for the 2020–2021 school year. Educators can earn up to six MSDE CPD credits. MCPS will allow up to three MSDE CPD credits earned to be applied toward salary advancement and up to six MSDE CPD credits earned to be applied toward certificate renewal.
Educators interested in earning these credits can register for Professional Development Online (PDO) course #90092, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 22 through Friday, April 16. PDO is for registration only; proof of completion will not be on PDO. It will be each educator’s responsibility to maintain the grade slip they receive once all submissions are verified. MCPS will retain one for MCPS educators’ MSDE and MCPS records.
- Only educators that hold a Maryland Educator Certificate or Maryland State Board of Examiners License are eligible to earn these credits.
- Educators are asked to submit a verification of hours completed this school year via Google survey. The survey can be submitted as soon as an educator is registered, but will be due June 30. The survey link will be sent in the registration confirmation email and should not be shared.
- Only one survey submission will be allowed per educator. Educator submissions will be randomly chosen for audit. If the educator’s hours are chosen for audit, the educator will receive information about how to submit their documentation of hours.
- There are no exceptions to the registration deadline of April 16, or survey submission deadline of June 30.
