Parent Academy To Go has two recordings now available for families and students.
Destination College—Understanding the College Admissions Process: Do you need help navigating the college admissions process? Do you know what admissions officers consider when evaluating college applications? The focus of this workshop is on understanding how to maximize the impact of college admissions applications and on selecting and developing essay topics. Presented by Achieva Educational Consulting, this recording is recommended for families of high school students.
Adult Services and Supports: An Overview of the Montgomery College Educational Opportunity Center (EOC): Are you 19 years of age or older? Do you want help achieving your educational and career goals? EOC provides assistance to Montgomery County low-income/first generation adult residents who wish to enter or re-enter college or a vocational program. The program helps with completing the FAFSA application and other financial aid forms; searching and applying for state, institutional and private scholarships; admissions applications and career assessment/exploration. EOC will guide participants through enrollment in English as a Second Language programs, GED preparation programs, and technical/training programs. All services are offered in English and Spanish. To be eligible for the program, you must be a Montgomery County resident who is a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or have approval for asylum. This workshop is for families and caregivers who are 19 years of age or older.
