Pausing for Mental Health

From therapy dogs and scavenger hunts to nature walks and yoga, schools throughout MCPS have been participating in Mental Health Awareness Week, providing students with activities to help them relax, recharge and refuel. Teachers at Burnt Mills Elementary School led their students through meditation and yoga. Positive affirmations filled hallways at Parkland Middle School. Col. Zadok Magruder High School celebrated with a field day packed with art, reading, board games, sports and karaoke. The week kicked off with a systemwide mindful moment led by Superintendent Monifa McKnight. Watch a video and see a photo gallery.
