PD Opportunities Open to Principals, Aspiring Leaders
MCPS is offering an opportunity for aspiring and current school-based leaders to better understand the role and responsibility of a principal in a high-impact school and to further develop the leadership knowledge, attitudes and skills to lead in a high-impact school.
The Cohort Inspire approach focuses on developing and sustaining effective leaders by providing a comprehensive self-assessment, best practice research, as well as personalized coaching and monthly cohort learning opportunities. This cohort will meet in person monthly through May. The application deadline for Cohort Inspire is Thursday, Jan. 6. Apply here.
The Office of Human Resources and Development will hold Future Administrator Workshops (FAW) for educators who have successfully completed at least five years of teaching or counseling experience and have a minimum of two years of leadership experience. The two-day FAW sessions will be held virtually from 4–5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19 and Wednesday, Jan. 26. Register here.
For MCPS employees interested in becoming an assistant principal, the assistant principal (AP) and assistant school administrator (ASA) pool opens on Tuesday, Feb. 1, and will remain open through Monday, Feb. 28.
