The University of Maryland, College Park and MCPS are seeking candidates for the Creative Initiatives in Teacher Education (CITE) program beginning fall 2014.

CITE is two-year program that runs for five consecutive semesters. Successful completion of this program will result in a master’s degree in elementary education and Maryland certification in grades one through five.

Eligible applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and work as a paraeducator in MCPS for the duration of the two-year program. As in previous years, emphasis will be placed on recruiting a culturally and racially diverse group of interns who will receive consideration for teaching positions in MCPS upon successful completion of the CITE program.

An interest meeting will be held from 4–5:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, at OHRD, 45 W. Gude Dr., First Floor, Maple Room in Rockville. Applications for this program will be distributed.

For more information, contact Dr. Brenda K. Delany, instructional specialist, Department of Certification and Continuing Education, at 301-315-7384.
