In support of National Suicide Awareness Month, Kepro, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) partner, has a suicide prevention podcast available. The podcast is hosted by licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Erica Gergely and licensed professional counselor Ann Stephan.

In the episode, the pair address the characteristics that place someone at a higher risk for suicide, risk factors and warning signs, how to help a person who may need support and how to find help.

The MCPS in-house EAP is available 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 240-314-1040; or Kepro is available at 866-496-9599, 24/7, 365 days a year. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency, call 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 immediately. The Montgomery County Crisis Center is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 240-777-4000 or at 1301 Piccard Dr. in Rockville.
