Registration Coming Soon for Summer Professional Development
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses for the summer semester 2014 are available for registration through the Professional Development Online (PDO) system. The summer semester runs from late June through August. The classes will be released at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 7. Teachers have priority registration in all CPD courses. Support professional staff and substitute teachers may register on PDO for CPD courses but will be considered on a space-available basis.
The CPD registration fee will be assessed to permanent employees via payroll deductions after the successful completion of the course. Employees with outstanding balances must clear their accounts before registering for new classes. Employees on long-term leave should contact the CPD office to make payment arrangements.

George Mason University to Offer Advanced IB Studies Graduate Certificate
George Mason University and MCPS, through the Office of Human Resources and Development, will offer an Advanced IB Studies graduate certificate program. The 15-credit hour Partnership Program targets Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) or Diploma Programme (DP) teachers who are working in IB schools. Courses will be offered in an online and hybrid format for a fall 2014 cohort.
Information meetings will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from 4–5:30 p.m. at the Center for Technology Innovation (CTI), 4 Choke Cherry Road, Rockville, MD, and on Thursday, May 1, from 4–5:30 p.m. at The Center for Skillful Teaching and Leading, 283 Muddy Branch Road, Gaithersburg, MD (located inside The Festival at Muddy Branch Shopping Center).
