Registration for Required Summer Learning Begins March 15-16

This summer, many MCPS staff members will be required to participate in districtwide professional learning, and teacher and administrator learning.
Required summer learning is accessible from the Professional Learning webpage.
MCPS teachers are expected to determine which courses they must attend based on position and teaching responsibility. Teachers must complete the registration process and fully attend the required training.
Due to the July 10 school start date for the Innovative Schools, Roscoe R. Nix and Arcola Elementary, staff will collaborate with the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Programs to develop alternative training dates or formats to ensure their teachers have access to required trainings.
There will be opportunities to attend some of the listed trainings in the fall after school. Additional information will be provided by Thursday, June 1.
- Registration for systemwide required Tier 1 training for elementary teachers will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15.
- Registration for systemwide required Tier 1 training for secondary teachers and centralized training will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 16.
Continuing efforts throughout the school year will reinforce knowledge and skills gained during summer learning. MCPS believes in job-embedded professional learning that assists staff members in applying what they have learned in day-to-day work with colleagues and students.
