The latest episodes of “Waymaking” highlight discussions on anxiety, ADHD and the monkeypox virus. There is also an episode featuring Dr. Patricia Kapunan, a pediatrician and the school system medical officer.

“Waymaking” is a video series highlighting mental health and well-being resources for staff and students. The show is hosted by Dr. Christina Chester, MCPS director of psychological services.

The episode introducing Dr. Kapunan is available here. In the episode on monkeypox, Dr. Chester talks with Dr. Kapunan and Kimberly Townsend, senior administrator with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, on the virus and how to prevent its spread.

Dr. Chester talks with MCPS psychologist Cheree Price in the shows on anxiety and ADHD, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. They discuss how anxiety manifests in children and how to support a student with an anxiety diagnosis. The show on ADHD explores the most common symptoms, treatments and potential accommodations in school.

There are now more than 50 episodes on the “Waymaking” playlist. See the entire list here.
