Employment Opportunities Will Be Available This Summer in Title I Schools
Employment opportunities will be available this summer for work in Title I schools. They will be open to staff to Title I and non-Title I staff members.
The three programs held during the summer for Title I students are: Extended Learning Opportunities, Summer Adventures in Learning (ELO SAIL); Extended Learning Opportunities, Summer Title I Enrichment Program (ELO STEP); and Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL). All three work to close the achievement gap and support the needs of various learners, including special needs and English Language Learners. There is no cost for students to attend. All programs will run from July 9–August 10.
For those interested, an information fair will be held from 4:30–5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, in the Rocking Horse Road Center auditorium, 4910 Macon Road in Rockville.
Staffing allocations for ELO SAIL will include clerical support staff members, paraeducators and teachers. Current Title I staff members who are interested should submit their names to their principals for consideration. Paraeducators and teachers at non-Title I schools should submit an application via MCPS Careers beginning April 3.
The ELO STEP program will provide summer opportunities for teachers. Interested teachers at Title I and non-Title I schools should submit applications via MCPS Careers beginning April 3.
The BELL program is a partnership among MCPS, the Montgomery County Council and the Norman R. Rales and Ruth Rales Foundation.
BELL staff members will hire and train employees for this program. A variety of positions, including program managers, program coordinators, instructional coaches, teachers, enrichment teachers and instructional assistants, will be available. Current Title I staff members should submit their names to their principals. Interested non-Title I school staff should link to the BELL website via MCPS Careers beginning April 3.
