SUPRE Program Addresses Substance Use on School Grounds
The Office of Student and Family Support and Engagement is now using its first true diversion program, Substance Use Prevention and Resilience Education (SUPRE). SUPRE is available for school teams to start referring high school students and families in need of proactive support for a first-time substance use infraction on school grounds.
The goal of SUPRE is to increase student and parent/guardian awareness of the potential consequences of substance use. SUPRE consists of four, two-hour skill-building sessions, which will be held outside of regular business hours to accommodate families’ schedules. A parent/guardian is required to accompany the student to all sessions.
