Teleworking Aids Productivity, Promotes Work-Life Balance
Did you know …
Teleworking can increase employee productivity when there is a beneficial match between an employee’s job function and telework guidelines. MCPS supports teleworking as an effective way to improve employee productivity; reduce the amount of time employees spend commuting to and from work; ease traffic congestion; reduce the environmental impact of car emissions; and promote a work-life balance.
Teleworking is a voluntary option that certain employees can request and obtain approval for when there is agreement between the employee and the supervisor that is appropriate for the situation and circumstances. During the approval process, the purpose and frequency of teleworking is carefully considered.
Each June, MCPS supervisors submit positions proposed for telework to the Office of Human Resources and Development. If you believe that your role in MCPS meets the telework guidelines established in Regulation GEH-RA, Teleworking, you are encouraged to have a conversation with your supervisor.
