Thank You, Teachers!
In case you missed it, the following email was sent to staff on Monday, May 3, in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week.
This week, we are celebrating our amazing educators and their unwavering dedication and commitment to our students.
This year has not been easy. But despite the circumstances, you have given your very best to our students and to each other. You have demonstrated creativity, flexibility and resilience, transforming the way you work with students and support their academic and social-emotional needs both in school buildings and virtually. You have been a steady presence in your students’ lives and played a critical role in their well-being, helping both them and their families navigate change and find their rhythm in this new normal.
Montgomery County Public Schools staff is among the most talented and dedicated that I have ever met. It has been a privilege to work alongside each one of you and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to learn from some of the best educators in the country. I will greatly miss being a part of this organization.
Thank you for the work that you do on behalf of the children of this community.
Dr. Jack R. Smith, Ph.D.
