thinkingaboutretirementThe Employee and Retiree Service Center (ERSC) is conducting a series of workshops for employees considering retirement within the next two years. Preregistration is not required.

Topics for each session include a timeline for retirement, eligibility, benefit formulas, leave payout, post-retirement health and life insurance, taxes and forms. ERSC staff will be available to answer questions.

The next Retirement Informational Sessions will be held Wednesday, March 5, and Tuesday, April 1, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at CESC auditorium, 850 Hungerford Dr., Rockville.

After you have made the decision to retire, you also may want to attend a Forms Workshop. ERSC staff will be available at these workshops to help employees complete retirement forms. Upcoming Forms Workshops are scheduled from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7; Friday, March 14; and Tuesday, April 8. They will be held in the CESC auditorium.

Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA) members planning to retire on July 1, 2014, need to submit their retirement forms to ERSC by Tuesday, April 1, to be eligible for payment of 30 percent of their earned unused sick leave balance. Learn more about the MCEA sick leave payoff.
